In a move that has surprised the pop and R&B music world, Daniel Lanois has agreed to produce Justin Bieber’s next studio album, despite earlier rumors rapper Kanye West was to help JB’s new album project.
Three albums produced by Lanois have won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year, and four others received nominations.
On March 31, manager Scooter Braun spilled, “For some time Justin’s been talking about going in a new direction to expand his fan base.” After I talked to Daniel Lanois at the Junos, he finally agreed to produce the new album. Justin’s ecstatic!”
Scooter Braun mentioned other artists who may be featured in the hitmaker’s next effort. “Justin’s been talking to Drake about new music,” he said. “He’s talked with Rascal Flatts. Him and Chris Brown have been sending stuff back and forth to each other….But Lanois is going to be the man in charge.”
Daniel Lanois will return to the studio to begin work on Justin Bieber album in early July 2011. Justin Bieber’s own Never Say Never tour ends May 19 in Tokyo, Japan.
